Ceramic products - Engineering ceramics
Besides ceramic tubes, we produce a range of plascera® parts in shapes which are symmetrical in rotation, as well as plate-shaped components. They are used in the steel industry, in foundries, in the petrochemical industry, industrial furnace construction, mechanical engineering, etc., under various conditions.
Most plascera® products are subject to thermal loads of some extent. They have been devised in order to resist to high temperatures, rapid temperature changes (thermal shock) or temperature differences in the component (temperature gradient).
Besides thermal loads, mechanical and chemical loads (corrosion) also play a role, no matter what the application. Mechanical loads are strongly related to the installation position (i.e., horizontal or vertical) and the function of the component (thermal insulation, load-bearing component, etc.). Our engineering and design departments design components to ideally meet the customer's specific load.
Corrosion attack is caused by gases (oxidising, inert, or reducing), liquids and solid matter (powder, steel, metal). We maintain a broad database so as to be able to specify the optimum material for any application.
